Eva Maria Schieffer ist in Krefeld geboren und aufgewachsen und lebt und arbeitet in der Nähe von Paris. Sie tritt regelmäßig als Solistin und mit verschiedenen Ensembles auf. Weiterhin unterrichtet sie Flöte, Klavier, Harmonielehre und Gehörbildung und leitet zwei Chöre. Sie arbeitet außerdem als Deutschlehrerin. |
Eva Maria Schieffer was born in Krefeld, Germany and lives in the Paris region. She is a flutist for period instruments. She performs regularly as a soloist and with different groups for chamber music. She teaches flute, piano, theory of harmony and aural training and directs two choirs. In addition to music she also teaches business German. She has studied music, English and educational methodology at Cologne at the conservatoire and the university. She holds degrees in music and English and has completed several postgraduate courses as soloist for recorder and on baroque flute as well as contemporary music with Ula Schmidt-Laukamp, Günther Höller, Paulo Alvares, David Smeyers, and Martin Sandhoff. She has received scholarships from the association Live Music Now – Yehudi Menuhin, Frankfurt, the Richard-Wagner-Society, Düsseldorf, the European Academy of Fine Arts, Montepulciano, Italy as well as the German-American Society in Krefeld. She has participated in a number of masterclasses, among others with Marion Verbruggen, Han Tol, Bernhard Bahm, and Jérôme Minis. She was finalist of the international contest for contemporary music NICATI at Biel/Bienne (Switzerland) (category: soloists) and was awarded the “Förderpreis” of the city of Trier. With the guitar player Barbara Lechner from Austria she forms TonArt – Duo für Flötentöne und Saitenblicke, a duo the repertoire of which extends from music from the medieval ages to contemporary music. She was co-founder of Bel Tempo – Ensemble for Ancient Music. With the piano- and accordion-player Dorrit Bauerecker (Bonn, Germany) she plays contemporary music and improvisations. In addition to that she regularly performs with the organ-player Helga Schauerte (Paris, France) and frequently collaborates with the composer Simon Rummel (Düsseldorf, Germany). As a soloist she has performed with the Cologne Chamber Orchestra, the Gürzenich-Orchestra (Opera, Cologne), the Bochumer Symphoniker, the orchestra of the city of Trier, the Kurpfälzischen Kammerorchester, Mannheim. She has played at the Philharmonie of Cologne, at the Théâtre de Champs-Elysées, Paris, at the Prinzregenten-Theater, Munich and at the Thürmersaal at Bochum. She has participated in numerous festivals as the Festliche Tage der Musik, Trier, Oberstdorfer Musiksommer, Orgel plus, Bottrop, Improvise, Bochum, and recently the Europa-Bachfestival, Paris. |
